A new direction: Photography

Lately I've been feeling like I really have to find something, outside of work, to take really seriously. I tend to pick up new hobbies easily, but I've never really felt like I've mastered any particular craft. I've spent time coding, drawing, writing and making videos, but I've never really felt like any of these things were an endeavor that I could really get into. After quite a while of deliberation, I think I've finally arrived at an answer.

I've been a hobbyist photographer for a long time, but I've never really taken it particularly seriously. It's really rather an illusive art form in my opinion. On the one hand it seems really simple. You just point your camera towards a thing and snap a photo. Simple. Well the thing is, while we scroll past many photos every day there's often that one photo that makes you stop and just admire it. "Wow! What an amazing photo!" I began to wonder, what exactly triggers that feeling and how can I reproduce that feeling in my own photos? Can I make someone stop and really look at a photo I have taken? That is the question that I kept asking myself, and then it really hit me. I can do that!

This blog has largely been sitting dormant for a very long time and I really wanted to do something with it. So, I've decided to dedicate this blog to photography. Where will it go? It's impossible to know right now, but I want to learn how to take better photos one post at a time. I also want to learn how to properly edit them so that they look even better. In the process, hopefully, some of you will join me on this journey, and maybe we can share our knowledge with each other and become better together!
